nkKarçimsa Cement, Joint Venture of Kardemir and Beyçim, to Invest in 1 Million-Tons of Clinker and Granulated Slag Grinding Plant
Kardemir Karabük Demir Çelik A.Ş. and Beyçim Beton Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti.’s joint venture, Karçimsa Cement A.Ş., has approved a major new investment in green-cement production.
According to information obtained by Yatırımlar Dergisi, Karçimsa’s Investment Committee has decided to build a clinker and granulated blast-furnace slag grinding facility with an annual capacity of 1 million tons. The total investment is expected to be at least USD 30 million.

Karçimsa operates an advanced cement-grinding and packaging plant in Karabük. In addition to producing CEM III/A 32.5 N and CEM II/B-S 42.5 N cement in accordance with TS EN 197-1/2 standards, the company valorizes granulated blast-furnace slag—a by-product of Kardemir’s blast furnaces—by grinding and marketing it alongside its cement.
