Bey Çimento Unveils Another Mega Investment
Bey Çimento, in partnership with China’s largest cement producer, is set to establish two additional state-of-the-art factories in the Tekirdağ and İzmir regions, boosting its annual capacity to nearly 3 million metric tons.
Headquartered in Bandırma under the leadership of Chairman Soner Özbey, Bey Çimento Group recently completed a major investment in Yalova. Building on that success, the company has now signed agreements in Shanghai to construct two new clinker-grinding facilities—one in Tekirdağ and one in İzmir—in collaboration with Chinese partners.
Having already acquired a 51 % stake in Karçimsa, which operates out of Karabük, and launched its own cement-grinding and packaging plant in Bandırma, Özbey is driving Bey Çimento as a rising force in Turkey’s cement sector.
Projected Capacity Nearing 3 Million metric tons by 2025
Currently, Bey Çimento’s Bandırma, Karabük, and Yalova facilities produce just over 1.15 million metric tons per year. The two new plants in Tekirdağ and İzmir will each add 800 000 metric tons, plus an additional 1.6 million metric tons combined—bringing total annual capacity to nearly 3 million metric tons once completed.
With an estimated investment of USD 103 million, both clinker-grinding facilities are scheduled to begin cement production in Q2 2025. Upon completion, Bey Çimento will rank among the top cement producers in Turkey.
Strengthening Domestic and Export Markets
Chairman Özbey aims for rapid expansion, not only to serve Turkey’s domestic construction industry but also to achieve significant growth in exports. This expansion is expected to make a major contribution to the national economy.
Producing Next-Generation “Green Cement”
Both new factories will be developed in alignment with the European Green Deal and will employ the latest technologies to deliver “Green Cement” with a zero-carbon footprint. As global environmental regulations tighten, high-emission cement and steel plants will be phased out and replaced by next-generation, carbon-neutral facilities.
